Sunday Assembly East End is one year old! Join us for an extra special assembly centred around creativity and wellbeing, and celebrating how far we’ve come as a community, as we continue to lay down our foundations and begin to thrive...
+ We welcome Sir Sam Everington OBE, celebrated GP from nearby Bromley by Bow Centre and Health Partnership - an innovative community organisation with more than 100 projects under its roof supporting wider determinants of health. Dr Sam is an influential advocate of social prescribing and progressive community healthcare.
+ We're delighted to also be joined by performance artist Ella Golt aka Ella The Great - a visual artist and professional clown. Ella’s work provokes oursense of play in a world of toil and drudgery, our sense of imagination in a world of reasoned practicalities and our sense of bodily connectedness in an inreasingly atomised society.
+ We're proud to have a special East End Story from community member Sam Hopkins who will share her personal journey to better health, and will lead us in a unique moment of relection.
+ Plus Melissa Hardwick from Kentish Town Health Centre, Free Space Project and Well-beeing Garden, who will share her experience of running highly successful arts projects in a healthcare context.
+ Our fabulous in-house band and choir will lead some rousing celebratory singing guaranteed to get us in the party mood! Plus maybe a little extra birthday offering up their sleeve...
+ We invite YOU to join in our Bday bake-off - bake us a birthday cake for a chance to be crowned East End Star Baker and help us fundraise for the year ahead.
+ Stick around for a shared bday picnic next door in Langdon Park (or at theThe Galvanisers Union pub nearby if rainy)
