lets get childish

“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain artists when they grow up…" - Pablo Picasso

Sunday Assembly is, amongst other things, a community of people trying to re-enchant our lives with a sense of wonder… Last month we ventured into the bonkers world of quantum theory, which certainly helped, but this month we’re going to talk about how we can cultivate this feeling in everyday life, via celebrating the wisdom of childishness!

Our main speaker will be the one and only Mawaan Rizwan, a stand up comic, actor, self made YouTube star and BBC documentary and radio presenter who has cunningly made a living out of refusing to grow up and get a real job. He’ll be making the case that we can all benefit from listening to our inner child a little more, and how clown school taught him the importance of mischief, humility and play (presumably he’ll also tell a few jokes…).

Check him out twerking his way across central London here .

We’ll also have a little talk and some performances from the team behind the immersive ‘Womb with a View’ project, in which you can quite literally be reborn, and some spoken word and an East Side Story from Taku, our trusty sound engineer at Spotlight.

Plus the usual eclectic singsongs with the East End House Band and choir, which is going from strength to strength, and chats over free tea / coffee and snacks afterwards.

Children young and old welcome!

*****Sunday Assembly is free to attend and runs entirely on donations. Please bring cash and support us if you can to keep it free for those who can't*****
