“God does not play dice with the universe.”
― Albert Einstein

“Not only does God play dice but... he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen.”
― Stephen Hawking

What is going on in the quantum world… the realm of atoms and particles? Nature behaves so differently at the quantum scale, that some of our basic ideas about reality get turned upside down.

Jonathan Oppenheim is Professor of Quantum Theory at University College London, where he researches, amongst other things 'quantum information theory', 'quantum gravity', 'quantum thermo-dynamics' (?!!!?!) and even black holes. So he’s basically a quantum adventurer, exploring the very fabric of reality, at the outer reaches of human understanding. Pretty cool huh?

Jonathan will be our expert guide this month at Sunday Assembly East End as we collectively explore this mind, space and time bending world.

Plus the usual semi appropriately themed singalongs with the East End house band and choir, poetry, East Side Stories, a guided moment of reflection, and chats over tea, coffee, cake and biscuits afterwards. Sounds like we'll have plenty to talk about...

*****Sunday Assembly is free to attend and runs entirely on donations. Please bring cash and support us if you can to keep it free for those who can't*****
